We’ve got your back. BloomTime’s founder and CEO—Lauren Mandel, PLA, ASLA—is a licensed landscape architect with 15 years of experience. She has contributed to the design of more than $100M worth of landscapes, including more than 60 roof gardens. Her work—which integrates fringe solutions into professional practice—has been recognized through 12 professional awards and 24 publications. Her past clients include the University of Pennsylvania, Barnes Foundation, and Brooklyn Botanic Garden.
In 2013 Lauren authored “EAT UP: The Inside Scoop on Rooftop Agriculture” (New Society Publishers), the first full-length book about rooftop food production, and remains a leading expert in the field. She was also the principal researcher and author of the “Site Commissioning White Paper” (U.S. General Services Administration, 2017), a federal-policy tool aimed at elevating the value of landscapes by proving their social, environmental, and financial performance. Lauren holds a Master of Landscape Architecture from the University of Pennsylvania and a BA in Environmental Science.

Abdallah Tabet, RLA, RA is a licensed landscape architect and architect with extensive international experience. He is an associate at a world-renowned, landscape architecture firm, and holds degrees from the University of Pennsylvania, American University of Beirut, and The Lebanese University.
Michael Mandel, PhD is an Associate Professor of Computer and Information Science at Brooklyn College, working at the intersection of machine learning, signal processing, and psychoacoustics. He holds degrees from MIT and Columbia University, and has worked as a postdoctoral research fellow, algorithm developer, research scientist, and assistant professor with funding from Google and the National Science Foundation.
